Wow…first, I need to pause just a moment to take a breath. It’s been a crazy past couple of months, but I can’t believe I am at the point where I’m writing my first blog post.
Now that it has sunk in slightly (well maybe not quite…haha!), I want to thank you all for taking time to stop by and read the post and for all the support you have shown thus far. Honestly, I could not have done all of this without you. Through taking this leap, I wasn’t sure what would come of it, and I was so nervous it would fall flat on its face. But you all have provided me with such positive feedback, and I just continue to grow with each session and new client (or friend, as I like to say). I could go on and on in thanking you, but I’m sure you’re excited for me to get to the good stuff!!!
Not only is this post so special to me because it’s my first, it also is near and dear to my heart because I have the amazing opportunity to tell you all about one of my best friends and her fiancé!
Ashleigh and I have been close friends since middle school. One weekend while visiting her up at college she introduced me to this man named Dave. It wasn’t too long after that Ashleigh let me know they had officially started dating! Dave started coming to our group hangouts, and it just became natural that the two of them were together. It was great getting to know him better each time we all hung out, and I could always see how happy he made my best friend!
A few months back, I received the exciting news that Ashleigh and Dave were engaged! The story of how he proposed was perfect for her! She has a love for clouds, so he set the bar high on the proposal scale by putting together a personalized, one-day, pop-up Cloud Exhibit at a local gallery. Dave went into months of preparation to have it filled with cloud photos and artwork that were all contributed by their close friends and family. He completely nailed it, and I am so happy to see my best friend find such an incredible man!
This was one of my favorite sessions thus far for several reasons: (1)
Conestoga House and Gardens is gorgeous and filled with so many unique photo opportunities. I was taken aback when we first stepped onto the location by all of the beautiful gardens. (2) Ashleigh and Dave are so in love with each other that photographing them was so natural and made the shoot extra fun! (3) They are so open to anything that we even ended the night downtown to capture some more urban style shots.
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
