I have always loved the Fall weather, but as I have had a few years as a photographer under my belt, I have an even bigger LOVE for this incredible season! Not only do you get changing leaves, but Fall always has some of the most epic sunsets that paint beautiful colors across the sky, and Kelsey and Scott’s engagement session did not disappoint!
I was beyond excited when Kelsey reached out to me to do their engagement session back in the summer. They are doing a destination wedding (so jealous) but wanted to get engagement pictures back here in their home state! We tried a few times to do it at the end of the summer, but mother nature thought otherwise, with all the rain we received. We finally settled on the idea to wait until Fall to do the session, so hopefully, there would be no more rain. Part of me would have loved to do a summer session, but I am SOOOO glad it got pushed off, and you will see why shortly in their photos!
Masonic Village is an absolutely beautiful backdrop at any location you stop and shoot at. It has such a wide variety of locations that I always have such a hard time deciding where we should stop because I could probably stop every 10 feet!!! This was the location of Joel and I’s engagement photos, so it always has a special place in my heart! These two made me fall in love with this place even more! Kelsey and Scott were such naturals right off the bat! Instant smiles swept over their faces and stayed the entire way through the session! You would never guess that by the end, all three of us were shivering because of how chilly it got! They pushed through, and did everything I asked, plus some, without me even having to ask! These two are so in love that they were just so natural!
Scott has been one of my favorite guys to work with so far! I would have them doing something, and he would just crack up laughing because he would think it felt so weird, but he trusted me that in the end it would look great! At one point, I showed them the back of the camera, and Scott said, “Wow, that does look way better than what I was thinking!” He was so willing to do any thing and always did it with a smile! Kelsey, you definitely found a great guy!! I wish you two all the best and am so happy we were finally able to get this session scheduled!! Enjoy the photos, and enjoy your amazing destination wedding!!!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
