When a senior comes with a vision, you buckle up and get excited!
Elliot definitely had a vision for her Hibernia Park fall senior session.
The outcome did not disappoint. As soon as I hopped out of the car, and we started chatting, Elliot pulled up her phone with inspiration in hand. Some photographers may shy away from Pinterest boards for ideas, but I am totally onboard. Sure, I could walk you through an entire session and give you tons of poses and prompts. Not an issue at all. But if there are a few shots you absolutely love, I definitely want to see them and make sure we work them into the session.
It’s your senior photos!
You deserve to love them because the session is designed to showcase who you are. Whether that is outfit choice, location, poses, or all of the above. You deserve it. So Elliot sent me the ones she absolutely loved and we got to work. We started out in a beautiful field of tall wild grasses. She had a fun black jumpsuit that made her pop off the grasses. In this location, we were able to add a good amount of movement and show off her fun personality.
This girl knows how to work it!
Before heading off to the next spot, we stopped for a few shots on the stairs of the mansion. Sometimes, stairs can make seniors feel uncomfortable because they don’t know how to sit best for the camera, but Elliot embraced it, and we got some super fun shots. Then, for the first time at this location, we stopped along the creek that ran through the property, so Elliot could do some photos in the water.
Highly recommend this.
This part of the session was super fairytale-esque. It felt like we were peering into a storybook. Elliot thrived here. She is a very talented synchronized swimmer and so being in the water (even if shallow), she was in her element. We had a blast splashing around and bringing her vision to life. Lastly, we ended at the lake with a dock that stretched out past the edge of the water. Again, she was willing to go into the water.
No questions asked.
These photos are some of my favorite movement ones I have captured. She wasn’t nervous in front of the camera and actually shined the entire time! Her playful, glowing dress added a ton of variety and complemented her ideas beautifully. We, no lie, shot up until I couldn’t see in the back of my camera anymore. It was just all too good to stop. Now I can’t stop looking at my favorites over and over.
Take a look for yourself, and brace yourself for so much magic!
Elliot, I know I said it at the session, but sessions like this are the best. When a senior loves to try anything and be different to show off their personality, I fully support it! You were AMAZING to work with, and I’m so glad you are a spokesmodel this year, so I can continue to have you in front of my camera! You are one-of-a-kind, in the best way possible.
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
