Julia and Brennan’s Chesapeake City engagement session was nothing short of magical. It got even better with their two adorable dogs, Roo and Finn, stealing the show during the first part of the shoot! We kicked off the session at Julia’s family farm surrounded by golden fields, wood barns, and a beautiful tree-lined lane. The moment Roo and Finn made their entrance, their cute faces and playful energy completely took over. You could tell these two pups are a huge part of their lives.
It was so sweet to see them included in such a special moment.
Julia and Brennan, fun-loving and laidback, were all smiles as they played with their pups and strolled through the farm. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect—blue skies with a few clouds, sunshine, and just the right temperature. It was clear how much this family farm means to them, and Roo and Finn fit right into the scene.
Adding even more personality to their photos.
Once Roo and Finn had their moment in the spotlight, we shifted to the second half of the session, heading down to the river. The setting was calm and serene, with a beach and a charming wooden bridge crossing a small pond. Julia and Brennan’s easy-going, joyful dynamic continued to shine through. Their love is built on a foundation of fun and light-hearted moments.
You could feel that energy in every shot.
Their love story has such a unique beginning. Julia actually got Brennan’s number from his brother—intended for a friend—but it didn’t quite work out for her! Luckily, it worked out for them, and after 10 years together, they’ve built a relationship rooted in shared memories, support, and a deep bond.
The proposal? Absolutely perfect. On their first real vacation together, in Punta Cana, Brennan planned to propose at sunset on the beach after a day of snorkeling and cruising. But, as life would have it, Julia took a little longer getting ready (as we all do), so it was dark by the time they got to the beach. But that just made the moment more intimate and special. Alone on the beach, Brennan asked Julia not just to marry him, but if he could also officially become her dog’s dad—and she loved every bit of it. The icing on the cake? Brennan used the center stone from Julia’s mom’s original engagement ring.
It doesn’t get much more sentimental than that!
Julia and Brennan, your Chesapeake City engagement session was a dream, and Roo and Finn’s adorable appearances were the perfect touch. Congratulations on your engagement—your love story is one-of-a-kind, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and unforgettable moments!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
