Wildflower Field Summer Senior Session | McKenzie Ross

Jun 23, 2025

McKenzie’s wildflower field summer senior session at Wildflower Lookout was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing seniors in this magical little slice of Lancaster County. I had just been to this same location two weeks earlier, but when I arrived this time, it felt like a completely different place. Two brand new sections of flowers had bloomed, each more stunning than the last. And the entire field was bursting with color and texture. Add in the softest evening light, and it felt like we stepped into a dream.

Maximizing Variety with Mini Sessions

One thing I absolutely love about McKenzie is how intentional she was about creating variety in her senior photos. She chose to split her session into two separate minis, and I’m so here for it! Breaking things up like this allows seniors to take advantage of different locations, seasonal changes, and outfit vibes, without the rush of fitting it all into one day. It’s such a smart way to get a gallery that truly feels like you.

Natural Beauty and Athlete Energy

From the moment we started shooting, I knew we were going to have a blast. McKenzie is not only beautiful, but she’s also a volleyball player which meant we instantly connected. That energy, strength, and confidence she carries as an athlete totally showed through in her photos. She brought movement, personality, and a laidback charm that made every frame shine.

Why I Love Shooting at Wildflower Lookout

Wildflower Lookout is quickly becoming one of my favorite summer session locations. The ever-changing blooms, wide-open skies, and soft golden light make it a photographer’s dream. Whether it’s the tall grasses waving in the wind or the rows of vibrant florals stretching into the distance, every session here feels fresh and new. And this wildflower field summer senior session with McKenzie? A total standout.

McKenzie, thank you for trusting me to capture this part of your senior year—it’s been such a joy working with you and seeing your confidence shine. I can’t wait for part two of your session!
