After what felt like a streak of rainy, windy, or cloudy shoots, Angelina and Cyrus’s Overlook Park Spring Engagement Session felt like the breath of fresh air I had been waiting for all season. The weather was absolutely perfect—soft golden sunshine, warm spring air, and blooming trees in every direction. And the cherry on top? Their five-month-old puppy, Rigsby, who may have stolen the entire show.
As a photographer who loves guiding my couples through a stress-free, joy-filled experience, I always remind them: You don’t need perfect conditions for perfect photos. But when you do get the dreamiest evening and a couple like these two? You better believe I was squealing behind the camera.
Starting Casual with Rigsby in Tow
We kicked things off in a relaxed, casual look—jeans and easy smiles—as we explored the walking trails and pine tree grove of Overlook Park. With Rigsby leading the way (and posing like a seasoned pro), we captured so many sweet, playful moments. I seriously couldn’t believe how well-behaved he was for such a young pup! He brought so much personality to the session, and I already know he’s going to be a fan favorite on the wedding day.
Sunset Glow and a Show-Stopping Silk Dress
As the sun dipped lower, Angelina and Cyrus changed into their second outfits, and wow—they could’ve walked straight onto a magazine cover. Angelina’s silk cream dress caught the light in the most magical way, and it made her and Cyrus pop against every backdrop we used. From blooming spring trees to soft open skies, every frame felt like a dream.
Spring Magic at Overlook Park
Overlook is one of my favorite local locations, but springtime there? It’s truly something special. The trees were in full bloom, the light was soft and golden, and the entire space felt alive with color. I think I squealed at least 10 times (okay, maybe more). This Overlook Park Spring Engagement Session reminded me why I love what I do—capturing joy, love, and the unexpected magic of moments like these.
Angelina and Cyrus were effortless in front of the camera—laughing, dancing, snuggling up with Rigsby—and I’m so excited to be part of their journey. Sessions like this are why I do what I do.
Planning your own spring engagement session? Whether you bring your dog, your love, or just your best vibes—I’ve got you. Let’s capture it all.
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
