There’s something so bittersweet about this session every year. Our Founders Hall Cap and Gown Session marks the final shoot with my senior spokesmodel team before they head off to the next chapter of their lives. And while it always tugs at my heart to say goodbye, I’m endlessly proud of each one of them.
This year’s session was filled with laughter, a few tears (after I got back in the car to leave), and so much pride. We started with classic cap and gown portraits. Walking the grand marble walkway of Founders Hall has become such a staple for these moments. The architecture is clean and timeless, providing the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful milestone.
From there, the girls changed into their college gear for some fun, celebratory shots that reflected where life is taking them next. And let me tell you…they’re going places!
The Next Steps
McKenzie is taking a gap year and also preparing for a wedding! I’ve loved seeing her creativity and warmth shine through every shoot.
Hayden is off to cosmetology school at Empire. I know she’s going to bring beauty and confidence to everyone she works with.
Deniah is headed to Penn State, still undecided on a major, and I’m so excited to see what she discovers along the way.
Kaitlyn will be studying Occupational Therapy at Elizabethtown College, and her kind, gentle spirit will no doubt make her an amazing caregiver.
Brynn is pursuing Psychology at Susquehanna University, and I just know she’s going to do incredible things with her compassionate heart.
Why Founders Hall Is Perfect for Cap and Gown Sessions
I’ve photographed many senior sessions, but Founders Hall Cap and Gown Sessions always hit a little different. The venue’s grand columns and classic stonework give the images a timeless, collegiate feel. Making it the perfect setting for a celebration of everything these seniors have accomplished.
It’s a location that feels important, full of potential, and perfect for capturing a moment that’s equal parts reflection and anticipation.
A Thank You to the Team
To McKenzie, Hayden, Deniah, Kaitlyn, and Brynn, thank you for representing HMP with so much heart, joy, and authenticity this year. It’s been a true joy to walk through your senior season with you. You’ve grown in confidence, stepped into your own light, and made this experience unforgettable.
I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
