Ella and Evan’s Lakeview Farms Summer Wedding was the kind of day every couple dreams about. Warm sun, a soft breeze, and the kind of energy that comes from two people who are not only madly in love but genuinely having the time of their lives.
As their photographer, I felt like I was constantly catching myself smiling behind the camera. From emotional moments to full out belly laughs, this day had it all.
A First Look That Felt Like Christmas Morning
The entire day was full of joy, but one of my favorite moments happened early on during their first look. Evan had told us earlier, “I’m not a crier,” but as soon as he turned around and saw Ella in her dress, he absolutely lit up. He later compared the moment to Christmas morning, saying it felt like opening a gift you’ve been wishing for, and knowing it’s exactly what you wanted. During their private vows just moments later…yep, the tears came. And we were right there to capture it all.
Philly Pride and Wedding Day Playfulness
One thing I loved about Ella and Evan was how much personality they brought to the day. From start to finish, this wedding was unapologetically them.
Big Eagles fans, they made sure their Philly pride was felt. Especially during toasts, when the bride’s brother had the entire reception join in the Eagles chant. And speaking of the groomsmen…they were on a mission to throw Evan in the air for a photo, but he wasn’t having it! Every time they got close, he’d dart away laughing, and they’d give chase. It was such a fun dynamic to capture and really showed how playful and tight-knit their group was.
Sweet Treats and Sunset Views
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Ella and Evan opted for something a little more local and a lot more fun. A giant whoopie pie cake! They also had an ice cream truck at the reception which guests (and yes, the photographers, too!) were thrilled about. It was the perfect way to keep the good vibes going during golden hour.
The grounds at Lakeview Farms provided us with numerous beautiful backdrops throughout the day, including rolling fields, a glowing sky, and a stunning pond that beautifully framed their love story. I especially love how the space feels intimate while still offering wide-open views for dreamy portraits.
