Intimate backyard wedding in Columbia, PA
A little rain never hurts anyone! Teresa and Miles were sticking to that statement this past Sunday for their intimate backyard wedding. They had gone through enough hurdles for their wedding that when the sprinkles started to fall on their day, they just brushed it off like it was nothing.
Nothing was going to stop them from enjoying this day!
Let me give you a little backstory. Teresa and Miles had originally inquired with me for October 2020. Even through the craziness of COVID, these two planned their full wedding without too many hiccups. Even up to two weeks away, things were looking great. Details were being finalized. Times were being set. Family was preparing for their travels.
Everything looked like it was good-to-go.
Then, with one week until their wedding day, the dreaded message came. âHey Heather, unfortunately we are going to have to reschedule the wedding, we both have COVID.â My heart instantly sunk. There was no way to figure out a new plan to make it work. It wasnât a quick fix. They had to be in quarantine on the day they were supposed to say their I Dos.
Everything they had planned for came to a halt.
But for Teresa and Miles, they didnât let it slow them down. Sure the day they had been waiting for came and went without a wedding. But they quickly picked up the pieces and started planning the new wedding day of their dreams. And let me tell you, it was beautiful! Family came in from all over! As I walked into the house on their wedding, the kitchen was filled. Their family members were busy at work prepping all the delicious food for the reception.
It was a beautiful sight!
To watch everyone come together to help out on the wedding day of their dreams. But, that wasnât the only moment where everyone just pitched in to help! As the ceremony was getting ready to start, the skies opened up. A change was quickly made to shift everything under the tent. Instantly, family members rushed out to help so that there was little hiccup in the schedule. It didnât matter that they were dressed up and getting rained on.
All that mattered was that these two could have the best day possible!
Teresa and Miles took each hiccup with such calmness and willingness to make a change. They truly were focused on marrying their best friend. That was all that they cared about. So if it rained, let it rain. If the ceremony wasnât in the exact spot they planned, it didnât matter. As long as the people they loved were there to witness it, thatâs what mattered!
It was truly so special to watch and be a part of!
Teresa and Miles, you two are incredible! So willing to go-with-the-flow and stay positive! You are truly a treat to be around. I have loved having a couple extra months with you two đ I know this wasnât the original day you planned, but in my opinion, I think it may have been a little better. To see all your family and friends come together to make this the best possible day, it was so incredible! You have the best support system! I am so excited to share all the photos with you soon, but here are some of my favorite highlights!!
