Intimate Barn at Silverstone Wedding

Over my years of being a wedding photographer, emotions of all kinds arise throughout the day. Tears. Laughs. Smiles. Nervousness. Often times, it is a number of them all mixed together.

For Hannah and Matt’s intimate Barn at Silverstone Wedding, one emotion stuck out from the rest.

Tears. Not tears of sadness, by any means. It was tears of joy! Matt truly wears his heart in his sleeve, and it had every one in attendance wiping a tear away at some point. There were two moment that had me tearing up along with everyone else. First, was during the ceremony. The officiant handed over the microphone to Matt to read his personal vows to Hannah. He got through the first sentence no problem. Then a long pause followed. Leaving everyone waiting.

Matt was trying to hold back the tears.

When he finally opened his mouth, the words came out choppy, and then tears started to roll down his face. It took every ounce of strength in him to get through his vows. But he knew he needed to, so Hannah knew exactly how he felt and just how excited he was to marry her!

It was the greatest day in his life!

So many times on a wedding day, it is the bride or mother-of-the-bride that shed the tears, but for this intimate Barn at Silverstone wedding, it was the groom that had everyone wiping their eyes. The second time, I was emotional was during the mother-son dance. Nine times out of ten, the father-daughter dance gets me a little because of the bond I have with my dad; however, on Sunday, Matt had me tearing up. The song began, and Matt graceful turned his mom around in a circle. Huge smiles on both of their faces. I was getting a wide angle shot, and I, too, was smiling with how meaningful this moment was for them.

Little did I know, there was more than just smiles going on between the two of them.

All of a sudden, his mom’s hands raised up towards Matt’s cheeks. She softly wiped away tears that were streaming down his face. He smiled at her and buried his face into her shoulder. This day was bringing up so many changes, and he wanted to make sure his mom knew he would always love her. The bond between them was so strong! It was almost as if she was letting him know she would be okay!

So much said in the emotions throughout this day!

Hannah and Matt, I am so happy and excited for you two! I can’t wait to see what your future holds. Hannah, you have a fantastic man that loves you dearly. Matt, you have such a sweetheart of a wife. Thank you, both, for letting me capture these moments for you and your family! I’m so excited for you to relive the day over and over again!
