Engagement sessions are the best, in my opinion, when they highlight a couple’s relationship. To the point that if you removed the couple, you could still guess the session was for them.
Kristin and Colin’s outdoor brewery engagement session did just that.
When she reached out asking if a brewery was a good idea for their location, the answer was a quick YES! Then the ideas started flowing instantly. She wrote back asking if it was okay if their pup joined, too. Again, an absolute YES! This brewery had an outdoor area, so it would be so fun to document them hanging out with their pup enjoying a beer together.
I was getting so excited, and we were still two weeks out.
The only thing she was worried about was the weather. November can be pretty unpredictable in Pennsylvania. She had every right to be nervous because they really wanted their pup to be a part of the session in some capacity. Engagement session day came, and the weather was beautiful! Not too cold and not a cloud in the sky. Plus, there were still colorful fall leaves on a few trees.
Hello, perfect fall outdoor brewery engagement session!
Kristin and Colin grabbed their favorite beers, and it was go time. We started out with just the two of them enjoying drinks together. Very casual but some of my favorite photos. It just felt like I was peeking into a date night for the two of them.
So many genuine and natural laughs.
Then, we brought in Walker, their pup. He was so well behaved for a treat (haha)! Just like kids, we do what we have to do for the photo. His bow tie was the perfect touch. After he had his moment to shine, it was an outfit change for Kristin and Colin and time to head over to the fall leaves. Plus, Kristin brought a few fun props to make their session even more personal. A shark tooth that Colin used to propose to her with. The back story to that is Kristin has always loved sharks, even back in college when I first met her, everyone knew she was obsessed with sharks.
So this proposal piece was perfect!
I loved that they brought it along. In addition, they brought a champagne bottle with their date on it and a personalized growler, too. All the special details to highlight. To end the session, I snuck the two of them away under a beautiful yellow leaf tree for a few photos of just them together. It was so fun just having them interact and have fun together.
This session encompassed their relationship beautifully!
From the sounds of it, their wedding at Jumping Brook Country Club is going to be the same. Details. Unique pieces. Endless happiness. I can’t wait! Kristin and Colin, I am so happy for you two! Sunday was so much fun! Now, it’s time to let the countdown begin for September 2024.
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
