Summer City Cap and Gown Session

Jul 29, 2021

When one door closes another door opens.

The theme that so perfectly describes a high schooler’s senior year and also the main topic at my summer city cap and gown session with my 2021 Senior Spokesmodel Team. They have officially graduated high school and are getting ready to head off to their next adventure at college.

Where did the year go?

For them, this transition time is all about saying goodbye for now to close friends, celebrating the past four years, and prepping for what’s ahead. It is an emotional time. Happiness. Sadness. So many memories are made and cherished before the “high school” door officially closes. One of my spokesmodels actually couldn’t make it because she was receiving a scholarship for college. I’m not lying when I say my spokesmodel team has made me so proud over this past year and is going to seriously kill it during their next stage of life!

I’ll be your biggest cheerleader!

So, let’s do a run down of where each of them have officially decided to continue their education. Polina, an official Conestoga Valley High School Graduate, is headed off to West Virginia University to double major in economics and marketing! Hello overachiever.  Can you say girl after my own heart? Did you know that I had one major but then also decided to double minor on top of it? So glad I did!! Jenna is my other Conestoga Valley High School graduate and is headed off to Elizabethtown College for Occupational Therapy.

Kick some butt, girl! I know you will!

Savannah graduated from New Oxford High School. Can we talk about feeling so blessed that she was willing to drive over an hour for each of our shoots because she so badly wanted to be on my Spokesmodel Team?! What an honor to be a part of these girls’ lives! She is headed to Misericordia University for nursing and also to play on their school’s lacrosse team! I absolutely loved playing a sport throughout my college years and am so excited she gets to experience that as well!

My final two spokesmodels are actually going to the same college! I seriously love when this happens! They form such close friendships while on this team, and then to see them continue on at college together  just makes me so happy! The college that these two will be attending is Bloomsburg University! Ireland will be majoring in computer science and minoring in civil engineering, while Gabi will be studying Criminal Justice!

All I have to say is wow!

I can’t wait to see where each of these paths takes you girls in your careers! But before that, enjoy your time in college!! You are going to absolutely love it! Be open to meeting new people, trying new things, and taking in every single moment! I am so blessed to have been with you throughout your entire senior year! To watch as you selected your majors and colleges and finished out your sports seasons and schooling in high school, it has been such a joy! This summer city cap and gown session will always stay close to my heart! Please make sure to stay in touch, so I can constantly be cheering you on! And you know over the summer we will have to catch up! I’m already missing each of you so much but just want you to know how proud I am for where you are going!

Stay positive! Continue to kick butt in everything you do. And don’t forget to Ah-Ha-Ha at the camera!!

XOXO ~ Heather Marie
