What an unforgettable session for Kathryn and Cody. From unpredictable weather to a stunning backdrop, their foggy National Memorial Arch engagement session will not be forgotten quickly.
Throughout the morning, Kathryn and I exchanged several texts trying to figure out what to do, based on the weather. It was a very dreary and wet day. Constant rain all morning, but the radar was showing that it was going to subside by the evening.
Or so we thought!
They traveled all the way from North Carolina, so it was pretty important to try to make this work if at all possible! So the decision was made, and we were going for it. I was pretty hopefully, as the forecast after 2:00 pm was showing just clouds. We can easily work with that.
Mother Nature sure had other plans!
On the drive there, all of a sudden, the rain started coming down. It was coming down pretty good! The radar, however, was still showing just clouds. Thank you, Pennsylvania, for the always surprising weather! It rained the entire way to the location and throughout the ENTIRE SESSION! Luckily, it at least let up to a mist for the session, but it was still nonstop!
Kathryn and Cody were such troopers!
Thank goodness their location was just stunning and had a ton of coverage. We were able to get so much variety just from the arch and their two outfits that the rain didn’t hinder us from getting tons of shots. The two of them were true go-getters because we ended the session out in the rain by all of the trees that surrounded the arch.
It was beautiful!
Kathryn and Cody, you guys are the best sports! That may have been my first all-rain session, but you can barely tell looking back! All you can see is you two in love and having fun! That’s all that matters! Thank you for just having fun, going for it, and letting me be a part of it! It is one I will forever remember. Hopefully, your Pond View Farm wedding is a little dryer. Either way, I can’t wait to see you two again next September!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
