Lehigh University Engagement Session: Rachel & George

Jun 26, 2026

I shot Rachel and George’s Lehigh University engagement session this week, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite sessions of the year. Lehigh’s Gothic stone buildings, green lawns, and golden hour light gave us endless backdrops. Rachel and George will marry next year at The Barn at Silverstone in September 2027. This session gave us the perfect preview of their easy, comfortable energy together.

Gothic Architecture Sets the Scene for This Lehigh University Engagement Session

First, we started at the Packard Laboratory building. Its stone towers, carved details, and arched wooden doors made a dramatic backdrop. Rachel and George walked hand in hand toward the entrance while the fountain bubbled beside them. Because the architecture is so striking, we let it do most of the work. They simply walked, talked, and laughed, and I captured the rest.

Candid Laughs and Quiet Moments

Next, we moved in close. Rachel and George pressed their foreheads together and laughed about something only the two of them understood. So I switched to black and white for a few frames, since the soft light and quiet moment called for it. Then George kissed Rachel’s cheek while she looked straight at the camera, and that shot instantly became one of my favorites.

A Second Look Under the “Go Beyond” Banners

After our first outfit, Rachel changed into a flowing striped dress, and we headed toward another corner of campus. The path was lined with Lehigh’s “Go Beyond” banners. It led straight to a second Gothic building with even more incredible doors. We walked the path together and stopped for a kiss under the trees. Then we posed Rachel and George in the carved wooden doorway. Those shots became some of my favorite portraits from the whole day.

Golden Hour on the Lehigh Bridge

Finally, as the sun dropped low, we found a stone bridge on the edge of campus. The golden light hit the trees just right, and Rachel and George leaned against the railing and laughed together one more time. This is always my favorite part of a session, because the light does half the work and the couple is finally fully relaxed.

Lehigh University Engagement Session: Looking Ahead to the Wedding

Rachel and George will say “I do” next September at The Barn at Silverstone. After this Lehigh University engagement session, I cannot wait. Their connection translated beautifully to every frame, and their wedding day is going to be even better.

If you’re planning a Lehigh University engagement session of your own, I’d love to help capture it. If you’re getting married in the Lehigh Valley, reach out today and let’s start planning your day.
