Cloudy but Elegant Fall Wedding at Bear Creek Mountain Resort

It started out as a gloomy day.

My drive to Bear Creek Mountain Resort was filled with clouds and on-and-off rain showers. All Sarah wanted on her day was the chance to have it outside. So I was saying prayers my entire drive for the rain to hold off at least for the ceremony.

As I arrived at the venue, Sarah was getting the final touches on her makeup and was just glowing from ear-to-ear!

She had just made the final call to go with the wedding outside at the spot she had dreamed of. The forecast was looking great, and everything was slowly starting to sink in. I grabbed her box of details and headed outside, leaving her with her girls as they started to get giddy about all that was coming up!

In the time that I had left the getting ready room and went down to the main entrance to do detail shots, the skies had opened up, and it was POURING!! My heart instantly dropped. She was upstairs so excited, and just outside, it was pouring on the location she has just confirmed to have the wedding at. I kept moving through the day with a hopeful heart and a smile, just praying that it was a little hiccup in the forecast, and it would past by.

Sarah had every hope that when the time came, the skies would quiet, and all would be okay.

And you know what, she was completely right. The rain poured off-and-on right up until we were getting ready to do the first look. And guess what? It never rained another drop the whole rest of the day! She knew that it would all worked out and stayed calm the entire way through.

I am soooo glad it cleared up because their venue was absolutely gorgeous. Everywhere you looked was filled with beautiful flowers and natural stone walls. Sarah and Bill had picked an incredible backdrop to paint their wedding day! Each detail tied perfectly together from the beginning of the day until the end! Happiness pouring out between the two of them and ALL of their family and friends that came to witness this beautiful day! One word comes to my mind every time I think back to their day: JOY! Every where you looked. Every moment that was shared.

Joy was just overflowing!

I am so happy for Sarah and Bill and the new life they have started together. Sarah is one of the sweetest people I have met. Always making sure everyone else is happy, even on her wedding day! She is filled with so much love, and it is completely equal in the man that she now calls her husband! Bill was just so happy to be marrying his best friend. The love he shared for her in his vows was just beautiful! They brought tears to my eyes! I can’t wait to see where life takes them. But one thing I do know? They will be madly in love with each other from this day on, and joy will always be the word that describes them!
