It’s was a beautiful fall day at Hayfields Country Club.
The leaves were starting to change colors. There was a slight breeze in the air, and the sun was softly peeking through the clouds. From behind the guests, the music softly started to play. All fell quiet at the ceremony location at Hayfields Country Club.
Richard emerged from behind the tree line. A smile spread from cheek-to-cheek. Not only was he excited to see everyone that had come for the special day, but he knew he was only moments away from marrying his best friend.
The moment couldn’t come soon enough.
Behind him came the parents of the bride and groom. Each getting a small wave in as they walked down the aisle to a family member they hadn’t seen in awhile, and then finding their seat on either side of the front row. All heads turned as the bridesmaids and groomsmen came in next.
Linked arm-in-arm.
Perfectly spaced out and almost in step with the soft music that played through the air. As each pairing made it down the stone steps to the ceremony spot, they walked past an empty row of chairs. Although empty, this may have been one of the most important rows at the whole ceremony. On each chair was a picture of a loved one that had passed away.
One that they loved.
One that they cherished. Who unfortunately couldn’t be there in person but was definitely watching over this special occasion. Each bridesmaid carried a red rose. One for each of these chairs. To show them love from the bride and groom and to make sure they knew their presence was with them.
It was such a special moment.
Those loved ones played a major role in Kimberly’s and Richard’s lives, and as they became one, it was a moment to thank them for all that they have done. As the last rose was placed, the music shifted. The mother-of-the-bride rose, and up at the top of the stone landing at the ceremony site at Hayfields Country Club, Kimberly finally came into view. Walking arm-in-arm with her dad. In her gorgeous white dress, and a smile on her face.
She was just as excited as Richard.
Slowly, she made her way past the row of chairs. Those that held the roses for each loved one. As she passed, she took a quick glance at each one, soaking in the love from them! She rounded the corner, and there stood her soon-to-be husband.
It was finally time to say I Do!
Kimberly and Richard, I have loved every minute with you two so much! From constant jokes with Richard and planning each detail of the day with Kimberly, it has been so much fun to become so close with you two! Truly a friendship has been created! I can’t wait to see where this journey takes you! I know it will always be you two walking hand-in-hand together (even if they may be a little dirty some times). You know you can always reach out to me if you need anything. I’ll always be here!
But for now, enjoy some of my favorites from your wedding day!
