“The cold never bothered us anyway!”
I surely hope you were singing that, just like I did. 🙂 . Although these girls definitely didn’t look like they were freezing in the photos, the cold actually was bothering us. It was chilly, but these senior spokesmodel girls were willing to put on dresses and skirts to get the shots! I am truly so blessed for each one of them!!
Unfortunately, one of our girls wasn’t able to make the shoot last-minute, due to medical needs, but these three girls absolutely nailed it. One day, we will have them all together! (Hopefully for the Christmas Party!)
We started out the day with each girl getting their hair done by my incredible friend Melinda! It was so fun to just sit and chat with each of them. I truly feel so connected to each of them and get so excited for all the things they have planned. These girls are so smart and are going to do so many great things as they grow up!
I am so blessed to be a part of their lives, even if it’s only for a little while.
We, of course, had snacks and cookies while they were getting pampered, too! I mean, come on, why not? Then we head off to Lancaster City for the session. Our first stop was at the gorgeous Old Trinity Place. It’s a small cul-de-sac in the middle of the city that is lined with colorful homes and has a cobblestone street! It is just the cutest area in the city, in my opinion, and I love shooting there during all seasons of the year! Their outfits complemented the homes perfectly. And the bike? Oh, the bike was just icing on the cake!! I had bought it for myself to ride but definitely was also thinking about how cute it would be in a photo shoot.
It was everything I had hoped for!
Smiles and laughs were flying around the entire session, even in the bitter cold! One of the girls even got herself stuck on a nail in front of someone’s house! Sadly, we had to sacrifice a hole in her pants to free her. But trust me, it was so funny to hear her say, “Hey guys…I can’t get up!”…instant laughter and so many memories!!
We ended the session at the steps of the Lancaster County Courthouse. They are beautiful white stone stairs that are tucked back off the sidewalk. The girls changed into a white and pink theme outfit, and man, did it match so well. And trust me, these girls were beautiful!! We didn’t stay out long because it was thirty degrees outside, and they were not dressed appropriately (sorry, moms), but what we got was exactly what I was hoping for.
This team may be small, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
I have loved getting to know each of them and truly calling them a friend! I am so excited that we still have another half of their school year together! Just wait and see what other magic we drum up!! But, in the meantime, check out some of my favorites from their city session!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
