Colorful Overlook Park Senior Session
Before this year, whenever I would think of Olivia, I would instantly think volleyball. I met Olivia during my first year of head coaching club volleyball. She was one of the girls that made my team, and I can still remember seeing her for the first time at tryouts. My dad was my assistant coach, and instantly, she stuck out for both of us.
Lefty. Blonde. Positive.
I know some of these may seem weird, but when you have hundreds of girls all wearing the same shirts, you use whatever you can to differentiate them. Left handers are not a common thing, so instantly, we picked up on that. Hair color is another way to point someone out to another coach without pointing. Lastly, any time we chatted with her, she had a smile on her face and a positive energy throughout the entire tryout process.
Each element made her stand out!
In the end, it made her stand out so well that she made our team. Still to this day, we are so glad she was on our first team. Definitely a team to remember. Ever since then, even when she went to play for other teams, we would always stay in touch. I loved checking in with all of my girls no matter who’s team them are on.
Just like my couples, once you are in the family, you are always in the family!
So when a text popped up from her this past summer, I didn’t think too much of it. At first. Then I read the text. She was hoping to do a senior session with me this fall! Instantly, I got so excited. She was just the cutest, and I absolutely wanted to capture those memories for her. I mentioned to her about my senior spokesmodel team opportunity, and she loved the idea!
Best day ever!
It is so fun to now see her as a senior. Where has the time gone? It is so different from on the volleyball court: all sweaty and working hard. Now she is dressed up in the absolute cutest outfits. Still, with her smile that stood out to us the first day of tryouts way back when! I can’t wait to see where this year takes her and what decisions she makes going forward. I know there are big things ahead in her future! But until she “leaves” me again, I’m so honored to have her as one of my HMP Spokesmodels for the year! You all are going to love these favorites from her colorful Overlook Park senior session! Enjoy!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
