One of my favorite parts about my job is really getting to know my couples and seniors. I know I have mentioned that before in my blogs. It’s because it truly is one of the biggest joys about what I do.
I definitely don’t want to just be your photographer!
One huge reason for that is because, by the time I get to your session, I already feel like we have known each other for years. There is no awkward silence. No moments of…what do we talk about? Just instant conversation and getting to know each other even more.
That was definitely the case for this summer Marsh Creek State Park engagement session!
Once a couple books with me, I send over a relationship questionnaire for them to fill out together. I always encourage a bowl of ice cream while they fill it out! It has questions such as how you met, how did he propose, what you do for a living, favorite sweets and drink, and so much more! It not only allows my couple to have a little fun reminiscing on those mementoes and dreaming up new ones together, but I get to know even more about the two of them and their relationship.
It’s a win-win in my book!
For Jackie and Doug, their relationship questionnaire had me cracking up laughing! The two of them met over a dating app but the pickup line that Doug used to ask her out in person was a perfect peek into who he is as a person. He said, “Do you dig bald guys and dad bods?” What a jokester! It had Jackie cracking up laughing, and obviously, the rest is history!
I instantly felt like I knew him from just that one answer!
When we finally met for their summer Marsh Creek State Park engagement session, Doug lived up to that image of who he was perfectly. Cracking jokes. Making the whole session light and goofy. It was spot-on! And you could tell, he made Jackie so happy the whole time!
I just love how the questionnaire comes to life, in a sense!
Next up is their Rivercrest Golf Club wedding next year, and I can’t wait to learn even more about them once they have their family and friends around. It just keeps getting better and better! If their engagement session was as fun as it was with just the two of them, I know it is going to be an absolute party for their wedding day! Bring it on!
XOXO ~ Heather Marie
